The element of space is present in this photo. There is space between the stool bars and between the legs of me and my brother. I had set my camera up so that it was propped up against my wall on a table tray. The camera was facing my brother and I dead on. We sat next to a window. It was on the right side of the photo and let in natural light and caused the effect of shade on our sweatshirts. My brother and I sat on the stools and I put my arm around him to represent the bond I have with him. I wanted to capture my brother, the stools, and myself in the image. I did not want the floor showing, I tilted the camera upwards slightly so you couldn’t see the floor. The image is meant to show the relationship I have with my brother. I have my arm around him because I am supposed to be protecting him. We are both in color, the rest of the image is in black and white to draw attention to my brother and I since we are the focal point.

The element of line is present in my photo. For the lighting of my photo, I put the volleyball in the direct sunlight. The ball was positioned at an angle and slightly facing away from me. My camera was tilted a little to the right and to the left of the ball. The camera was about 7 inches from the ball so I could get a clearer and closer shot. This photo gives the meaning of my passion for the sport. It’s a personal reflection of myself and how I love to play volleyball. There is visible moving lines in this photo which should capture the viewers attention to help their eyes move through the photo.

In this photograph I laid on my driveway and placed my camera flat on the ground. However, for the angle, it appears that my driveway is a lake or running water. The camera was resting one the ground. The sun was begging to set while I was taking the photo, which created the water like effect. There is a serene mood to this photo, it makes the viewer feel calm. There is no movement which could disrupt the image. The slide has depth which keeps the viewers’ attention. The sunlight creates a small movement which creates a line that can lead the viewer’s eye through the piece.
